Why You Need To Get Down To The Splash Festival

One of the biggest events on the city’s calendar, the Splash Festival returns to the Kings Beach precinct this Easter weekend (April 7 – 10).

The 31st edition of the Splash, proudly sponsored by SPAR, will feature four performance stages and an arena, The main stage located on the grass patch in front of the Super Tubes there will also be other stages and areas covering everything from food to comedy.

The star-studded entertainment line-up includes performances from comedian Celeste Ntuli, rapper Biggie, singer Nkosazana Daughter, food writer and award-winning cookbook author Zola Nene and My Kitchen Rules contestants Tim and Shireze. 

This afternoon (Friday, April 7)  the SPAR Splash Festival will host a wrestling extravaganza when the giants from CPW Wrestling take to the ring. 

Festival goers will also be able to catch the national Volleyball SA Championship broadcast on SuperSport at the Galaxy Bingo Beach Arena, where there will also be beach stalls, sand artists, and a performance by funny man Gino Fabbri.  

Foodies won’t want to miss the SPAR, We’re For Flavours Food Tent, where there will be various cooking demonstrations and stand-up comedy in the evenings. 

Headlining on Sunday is South African personality J’Something, equally well-known for his musical and culinary abilities. He can be seen in SPAR’s, We’re for Flavours Food, Tent showing off his gastronomical skills, before joining local act Jay Em on the main stage to perform some of his greatest hits. 

For the little ones, there’s the Fun 4 U Fairground, an Easter Egg Hunt, and EGGLAND, which will host multiple activities for children.

And as can be expected there will be a multitude of stalls and crafts, as well as a wine, gin, and craft beer bar, where you can sample the best drinks from local microbrewers and distillers.
