Attending Jukebox Re-Imagined was like stepping into a dream soaked in velvet and dipped in rhythm—a world where music drips like honey, movement becomes storytelling, and time bends to the beat of a sultry saxophone. Staged at the iconic German Club, this dinner theatre experience, presented by PEMADS, is a hypnotic blend of 1940s charm and contemporary sass. And yes—it is absolutely unmissable.
From the moment the lights dimmed, the audience was transported into a smoky, jazz-soaked reverie. Think vintage cabaret meets modern lounge: velvet vocals, dazzling choreography, and bold theatricality wrapped into one seamless, two-hour spectacle that never missed a beat.
The show features an all-female cast of powerhouse performers who command the stage with elegance, charisma, and jaw-dropping talent. Their harmonies? Impeccable. Their stage presence? Magnetic. Whether reimagining golden oldies or giving modern hits a smoky, nostalgic twist, every number was an emotional and sonic feast. Under the expert vocal direction of the radiant Caeleigh-Anne Heradien—who also stars in the production—each note was delivered with polished precision and soul-stirring passion.
But it wasn’t just the music that enchanted. The choreography, led by the internationally-acclaimed Tilette Schreuder Roelofse and co-choreographed by Bianca Swalwell, was a visual seduction in motion. Fosse-inspired finesse met contemporary flair in numbers that ranged from slow-burning sensual to full-blown razzle-dazzle. Laura Fullbrook’s artistic direction ensured the entire production shimmered with personality, mischief, and a touch of vintage decadence.
The costumes, lighting, and set design pulled you further into the fantasy, creating a cinematic atmosphere where every detail felt lovingly crafted. Guests are treated to a curated dinner experience, with food served strictly between 18h45 and 19h00. Doors open at 18h30, and the show kicks off promptly at 19h30. Be sure to pre-book your meal—food orders will not be taken on arrival.
