AN impromptu clean-up operation, started by primary school learners from Helenvale, when they saw an adult littering, earned them an unexpected trip to the Simbonga Game Farm and Animal Sanctuary close to the Gamtoos River.

NELSON Mandela Bay Municipality Executive Mayor, Cllr Gary van Niekerk, has supported the declaration and development of the Van Der Kemps Kloof Park in Bethelsdorpas a Nature Reserve to boost tourism and protect biodiversity and ecological resources in the area.

FOLLOWING the vandalism and theft of one panel of the Cenotaph in front of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Art Museum this week, the Metro has commenced with the removal of the remaining panels to prevent further damage to the iconic First World War Memorial.

SOME 3002 learners, mainly in matric, from 57 schools across the Vhembe District of Limpopo Province, and their educators, collaborated in a science outreach programme hosted in the Vhembe District by Nelson Mandela University and the University of Venda.

FAZIELA HARRIS-DAVIDS: IZIZWE Projects is a registered non-profit organization which aims to uplift the community of Walmer Township in Gqeberha, by establishing partnerships with community groups, including Walmer High School, Walmer Primary School, and local creches. To assist with the work they do Izizwe relies on volunteers, many of whom come from abroad.

THE Special Olympics South Africa (SOSA) National Team has received an incredible boost ahead of the highly anticipated Special Olympics World Summer Games in Berlin, Germany, as the Deputy Minister of Social Development, Ms Hendriette Bogopane-Zulu, has declared her unwavering support for the team.
