Baakens Valley will come alive with the sounds of music and celebration as the inaugural Valley of Dreams Music Festival kicks off on Saturday, 30 November. Powered by Algoa FM, this exciting event promises an unforgettable day filled with live performances, delicious food, and activities for all ages—all in support of preserving and enhancing Nelson Mandela Bay’s green heart.
Jordan Arts: A Debut Performance to Remember
For local and visiting music enthusiasts, the highlight of the festival is undoubtedly Jordan Arts, who will take the stage at 16:00 for his first-ever live performance. Known for his unique style that blends live instrumentation with electronic production, Jordan has been crafting new and unreleased tracks in London, and festival-goers will be among the first to hear them.
“Performing live is the best feeling!” shares Jordan. “My music combines different genres and sounds into one. I want to break the barrier between live music and electronic production.”
Rubber Duc: Acoustic Dance Magic
As the sun sets over Baakens Valley, the ever-popular Rubber Duc will take over at 17:30. The group, celebrated for their acoustic dance hits and high-energy performances, is ready to bring their signature fun and engagement to the stage.
“We love performing to people of all ages, and we’re lucky enough to have the same people love us back,” says frontman Nick Jordaan. “The energy of the crowd and hearing them sing back to us—it’s incredible and nothing compares to it!”
Just Jinjer: Legends of SA Rock
Headlining the festival at 20:15 is none other than Just Jinjer, one of South Africa’s most iconic rock bands. With their timeless sound and undeniable stage presence, the trio—featuring Ard Matthews on vocals and guitar, Denholm Harding on bass, and Brent Harris on drums—will deliver a performance that festival-goers won’t forget.
“There’s a special magic that happens when the three original members combine forces on stage,” says Ard Matthews. “We love the freedom we feel on stage, and the love we get from the audience fuels us to give our all.”
Family Fun and Culinary Delights
The Valley of Dreams Music Festival isn’t just about the music—it’s a full-day celebration designed for everyone. Starting at 12:00, the festival will feature a carefully curated lineup of performers, along with:
