Football fans in Nelson Mandela Bay can look forward to an inspiring weekend as the Girls Soccer Exchange Programme takes over Isaac Wolfson Stadium on 28 and 29 March 2026.

The initiative brings together young female footballers from Braunschweig in Germany and Nelson Mandela Bay, creating a platform for both sporting excellence and cultural exchange.

More than just a match

The programme is designed to empower young girls through sport while building meaningful international connections at grassroots level.

Supporters can expect two build-up games leading into the main match at 14:00, centred around the theme “Who Runs the World? Girls.”

Beyond the action on the field, the event carries a strong message about the continued growth and importance of women’s football.

Community, culture and the future of the game

With community at its core, the exchange programme highlights how football can bring people together across borders while opening doors for the next generation of players.

Residents are encouraged to come out and support, as young athletes showcase their talent and passion on home ground.

Because when girls play, everyone wins.
