There’s a fresh energy on the airwaves as Algoa FM rolls out an updated presenter line-up, blending familiar favourites with exciting new voices.
Leading the refresh is the return of Anathi Seyisi, a multi-talented presenter, actress, MC and voice artist who is coming back to her roots in Algoa Country. Originally from Knysna, Seyisi makes the move from Johannesburg, where she has been part of the team at 947 since 2021.
From 1 April, she will take over the 7pm to 10pm slot on weekdays, as well as Saturday lunch, bringing her signature warmth and versatility to the station. Her radio journey includes hosting roles on YFM, where she quickly built a name for herself after starting out at Diepsloot FM.
Fluent in English, isiXhosa and isiZulu, Seyisi is also a familiar face on screen. Viewers may recognise her from her lead role as Ndoni Jele on e.tv’s Harvest, as well as her appearance on the popular soapie Rhythm City.
Algoa FM managing director Alfie Jay says bringing talent like Seyisi back to the region is a win for listeners, highlighting the station’s commitment to both quality and local connection.
Also stepping into a refreshed role is Wayne Hart, who continues as co-host on the Breakfast Show alongside Lee and Charlie T, while returning to the Algoa FM Top 30 on Saturday mornings. Known for his strong presence and award-winning work in countdown radio, his return adds further depth to the weekend line-up.
In Buffalo City, Damien Schmidt takes on the Afternoon Drive slot during weekdays, while still hosting Sunday lunch. Having relocated from Nelson Mandela Bay, Schmidt brings both familiarity and fresh perspective to the role.
Meanwhile, Gordon Graham shifts from Afternoon Drive to Sunday evenings, hosting the 7pm to 10pm show. His move forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen audience engagement across regions, alongside activations led by Jeff Moloi and Damien Schmidt.
The refresh also creates space for rising talent. After two years of development, both Mark Koleske and Twai Mamuss now step into their own shows, taking over late-night slots on Fridays and Saturdays respectively.
These changes follow Kea Zawadi’s decision to relocate to Cape Town, as well as Graham’s growing commitments as a global Ironman commentator.
According to Jay, the updated line-up reflects a careful balance between youth and experience, ensuring the station continues to evolve while staying true to its audience.
For listeners, it simply means more voices, more stories, and more reasons to stay tuned.
