The Dafabet Warriors have fought their way through the T20 Challenge with two victories out of four matches, showing resilience and determination.
Warriors started strong with a convincing six-wicket win over Hollywoodbets Dolphins at the Dafabet St George’s Park. Jean du Plessis (69*) and JP King (41) led the chase of 162/9, with CJ King’s 3/18 ensuring a smooth victory.
At DP World Wanderers, the Warriors faced a daunting 239/4 from the DP World Lions. Despite Andile Mogakane’s 41 and Patrick Kruger’s 34, they fell short, posting 177/6 in reply.
The Warriors lost their third match against the Knights, chasing 166/9 but managing only 150/6. Half-centuries from Matthew Breetzke (66) and Jordan Hermann (51) weren’t enough.
At World Sports Betting Newlands, Warriors roared back into form. WSB Western Province posted 148/7, anchored by George Linde’s unbeaten 66. CJ King’s 3/27, along with Beyers Swanepoel and Alfred Mothoa taking two wickets each, kept Province in check.
Swanepoel then stole the show with a scintillating 83 off just 39 balls, leading Warriors to a five-wicket win. They chased down the target with ease, finishing on 150/5 in 17.4 overs.
