CHARNE TERBLANCHE
I recently visited Bayworld in Gqeberha, South Africa, with my two kids, a friend, and her son and it turned out to be an experience we won’t soon forget.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by Wongalethu, who welcomed us with genuine warmth and friendliness. That set the tone for the rest of the visit.
One of the biggest highlights and personal challenges, was interacting with the snakes. I’ve always had a fear of them, but the staff was so patient and knowledgeable that I started to relax as well. The kids, on the other hand, were absolutely fearless. They even got to hold a few snakes, and their excitement was contagious.
We also explored the museum, which provided a fascinating glimpse into the history of Gqeberha. The kids were especially amazed by the life-sized dinosaur – easily their favourite part of the museum.
Overall, Bayworld offers a unique mix of learning, adventure, and family fun. It was clean, engaging, and the staff made us feel right at home. I’d recommend it to any families visiting the area, you might even surprise yourself, like I did.”
