Top National Honours: Psychology Graduate from Nelson Mandela Bay Shines

Nelson Mandela Bay’s own Cara Venter has earned national acclaim after graduating Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Psychology from the IIE Varsity College campus — and being recognised as the top national graduate in her programme across the country.

“Being awarded top national graduate was a big surprise for me. It’s a huge honour, and I take much pride in this award. My heart is full of gratitude!” shared Cara, who now has her sights set on making her mark in the growing field of Neuropsychology.

The driven young scholar says her Honours degree is just the beginning:

“Neuropsychology is still a very young field in South Africa, and I would like to contribute to its development locally. This degree is a key step on my path to becoming a Neuropsychologist.”

Cara’s academic excellence was matched by her appreciation for the supportive campus culture at IIE Varsity College Nelson Mandela Bay.

“I really enjoyed my time on campus. The programme structure allowed me to do part-time work, and the lectures went beyond the textbook. They really helped deepen our understanding.”

Paul Manson, Campus Head at IIE Varsity College Nelson Mandela Bay, shared his praise:

“We are incredibly proud of Cara’s exceptional achievements and we wish her all the best in her future studies and career.”

Looking ahead, Cara hopes to pursue her Master’s in Neuropsychology at the University of Cape Town, with a five-year timeline in mind.

She leaves fellow students with heartfelt advice:

“Make time for the things you enjoy; work hard now so you may harvest the sweet fruit later.”
