Get ready, Gqeberha — the race is officially on! Already a major hit in Joburg, JoziKart, in partnership with Sun International, has officially launched its high-speed karting experience at Boardwalk Hotel & Casino — and it’s revving up the excitement for locals of all ages.
Our very own 041Sports writer, Sihle Sonto, was on the scene for the launch, reporting back that the vibe was electric, the engines were roaring, and the new Basement Level 3 track is set to become a firm family favourite!
The indoor track is built for maximum fun and serious speed, offering a 262-metre raceway complete with nine corners and two thrilling straights. Seven 270cc Sodi Engine Karts are ready for action, making it the ultimate outing for adrenaline junkies, competitive friends, families, and even corporate teams looking to shake things up with some team-building fun.
JoziKart isn’t about bumper cars or chaotic go-karting — it’s professional karting, where safety comes first. Every driver is fully briefed and shown a safety video before putting the pedal to the metal. No alcohol is allowed at the track (this is a serious sport, after all), but soft drinks and bakery treats are on sale to keep everyone refreshed.
Drivers need to be at least 1.4m tall and must be able to comfortably reach the pedals. If you’ve got younger racing fans at home, good news — smaller karts are on the way in the next few months!
