Exciting news for festivalgoers! The 2025 SPAR Kirkwood Wildsfees will remain in the heart of Kirkwood after securing a brand-new venue. Originally set to relocate to the Mayogi Bomas along the R75 due to liquor sale restrictions at Kirkwood High School, the beloved festival will now take place on the grounds of The Co-op in Kirkwood.
A New Chapter for the Wildsfees
Festival director Jenni Honsbein expressed her delight at the new location, saying, “It is great news that we have found premises in Kirkwood to hold the Wildsfees. We are extremely grateful for The Co-op, which has its headquarters in Humansdorp, for making their grounds in Kirkwood available for 2025.”
This means visitors who have already secured accommodation in town won’t have to adjust their plans—they’ll still be able to walk to the venue, just as they did when the festival was hosted at the school.
What to Expect at the 2025 SPAR Kirkwood Wildsfees
This year’s festival promises to be bigger and better than ever! From Friday, June 27 to Sunday, June 29, the Wildsfees will feature over 20 national artists performing on the massive ECPTA stage. In addition, festivalgoers can explore 300 specialist stalls, marvel at horse and working dog demonstrations, and enjoy a variety of activities included in the entrance fee.
The much-anticipated annual Kirkwood Wildlife Game Auction will still take place at the Mayogi Bomas, set for Friday, June 27.
A Special Celebration
Adding to the excitement, the 2025 edition of the Wildsfees will commemorate the 100th anniversary of Afrikaans being recognized as an official language. To mark this milestone, a free concert will be hosted on the evening of Thursday, June 26, setting the stage for an unforgettable festival weekend.
