] A bold fusion of fashion and advocacy is set to take centre stage this Women’s Month as the Voice of Courage Fashion Show returns to the Boardwalk Expo Centre on Friday, 8 August at 18h00.
This impactful charity event is a collaboration between Boardwalk and Camelot Spa, aimed at raising funds for Yokhuselo Haven—a safe space for women and children affected by domestic violence. For R300, attendees will enjoy an evening of runway fashion, beauty, and live entertainment, all in support of a vital cause.
Local designers, hairstylists and make-up artists will bring their talents to the runway, with models showcasing fresh looks and seasonal trends. The event also includes live performances by Fagrie Isaacs and Jade Engelbrecht, and guests will be treated to finger snacks throughout the evening.
The ticket fee goes directly to Yokhuselo Haven, which has been providing refuge and essential services since 1988. The organisation’s monthly operating cost is R35,000, covering everything from shelter and meals to trauma counselling, legal support, and basic medical care.
Antoinette Hamman, representing Yokhuselo, will share insights on the haven’s rehabilitation and empowerment programmes. These include skills development, legal rights education, and self-defence training. Hamman will be joined by guest speakers who will share personal stories of surviving gender-based violence.
Tickets are available via www.suninternational/boardwalks/events or Webtickets.
