Stitched PE branches out in time for Christmas

GQEBERA’S handcrafted hair accessories brand Stitched PE has expanded its range just in time for Christmas.

Carmen Taljaardt has decided to branch out by adding sustainable products to her range.

“I’ve branched out into making salad bowl covers. This creates another avenue for my small business to generate income in a totally different sector to hair accessories,” says Taljaardt saying that when she noticed a gap in the market she decided to just give it a shot.

The salad bowl covers are handmade by Taljaardt who is no stranger to sustainability.

“The smallest environmental action like changing over from plastic wrap to a reusable cover in a household contributes to sustainable living and makes a positive impact on the environment,” she said.

“Going green is about becoming more environmentally aware of what you use and how this impacts your local environment and if you can impact that positively why not?,” said Taljaart who has been using brown paper bags and cardboard boxes for all her Stitched orders.

Her first batch of covers have a proudly South African feel to them, but she is excited to add more festive offers to her range.

“Christmas is my favorite time of the year. So I’ve decided to add a Christmas range of salad bowl covers to my current range.”

You can find Carmen’s products on her Instagram and Facebook and  At Locally Yours – Situated on the 9th Avenue, Shopping Centre, Walmer.
