WITH the month of love just shooting hearts at us, 041BOOKS columnist Lauren Hewitt rounds up some titles that will get the heat ready for those romantic evenings.

There’s no better month than February to feature some romance books! Well to be honest any month is a good month, but especially the month of love.
Venice was where it all began…

Libby and Will spent a glorious honeymoon in this magical city. They didn’t have much money, but they had a whole lot of love and a bright future ahead of them.
And Venice was where it all went wrong…
Two kids and twenty-five years later, they are struggling with money problems but somehow Will manages to fulfil his promise to Libby to take her back to Venice for their anniversary. This time, they are doing it in style and a masked ball awaits. But among the beautiful buildings and romantic canals, Libby learns that her husband has a secret that breaks her heart.
The trust is broken and the marriage is over. But there are decades of love and two grown sons between them.
Can they ever find their way back to each other or have they missed their chance forever?
A funny and heartwarming second-chance romance, perfect for fans of Milly Johnson and Julie Caplin.
Helga Jensen says:
“I have always loved rom coms since my twenties. I practically grew up on Jane Green and Sophie Kinsella. I love everything about them as they make you smile, provide some escapism and whisk you off on a romantic journey. “

And sticking with the Venice theme…

When pragmatic, sensible and resolutely single Deirdre York (Didi to her friends) is sent to Venice for work she is determined not to be taken in by the romantic clichés. Winter in the floating city may be breathtakingly beautiful, but she’s here with a clear purpose and will not let the magic of Venice distract her.
Piero Zanetti is the epitome of the handsome yet tortured artist. Heart-broken by the end of his love affair with a glamorous opera singer, he has lost his ability to work, and his inspiration has drained away, along with his zest for life.
But Didi needs Piero working – she has been tasked with commissioning him to do a glass centrepiece for a luxury department store display – some how Didi has to cheer Piero up or at least find him a new muse…
As Didi and Piero slowly become friends, and as Venice starts to melt Didi’s heart and gently nudge Piero out of the blues, something special begins to happen. Can Venice – the City of Love – work a miracle and help Didi and Piero to find their happiness at last…

Onto some matchmaking!

Poppy Dean lives and breathes romance – in her job at least. As a matchmaker at an elite London agency, she spends her days finding the perfect Mr Right for pretty much everybody but herself.
When Tristan Fellows walks into the agency, Poppy knows she’s in for a challenge. A typical bachelor, Tristan has no intention of falling in love, but in order to receive his 30-million-pound inheritance, he must find himself a wife before his 35th birthday.
This may be Poppy’s hardest case yet, but even the most arrogant of men can sometimes warm a woman’s heart. And who knows, maybe it’s finally time for Poppy to find her happy ever after too?
The first in this series can he found here

I read this at the end of last year and I loved this first book in the Ever After matchmaking agency.
This was enemies to lovers, Forbidden love, grumpy vs Sunshine, a closed door romance and marriage of convenience all in one, I would never have said I was a fan of marriage of convenience, but this was sweet and has me convinced it is a cute trope afterall.
Poppy was just fabulous. Even Tristan and his grumpiness was just pure perfection.
The will they-won’t they had me on the edge of my seat and internally screaming at them to just ‘admit things’!
This was my first Sandy Barker, but certainly not my last, and I can’t wait for more! The second in the series will be out soon enough!
Book two will be out on the 14th February and I’m currently reading and loving it!
