The countdown is on for the very first Sip & Swirl event, happening on Saturday, 27 September, from 11am to 2pm at Babsie’s in Kariega. This exciting, creative experience is a collaboration between three local entrepreneurs: Zaheerah Smith, owner of Kayee Cakes and Marketing Manager at 041Online, Nasarah Williams-Witbooi of Inside Out Pop-Up Picnics, and Orcilla Rossouw of Wrapped xx.
Together, the trio has brought to life a vision that has been in the works for months—a space where people can come together to create, connect, and celebrate community.
“We wanted to create something fresh and joyful,” said Zaheerah Smith. “Sip & Swirl is all about laughter, creativity, and making beautiful memories. It’s an experience we’ve poured our hearts into.”
At the centre of the event is a guided Bento cake decorating session, hosted by Smith through her business, Kayee Cakes. Guests don’t need any baking or decorating experience—the goal is to explore something new, express creativity, and leave with a unique, edible masterpiece.
“This isn’t about perfection,” Smith explained. “It’s about having fun, getting hands-on, and walking away with something you’re proud of.”
Inside Out Pop-Up Picnics will transform the space with their signature décor and cosy ambience, setting the scene for a relaxed and beautiful day. Meanwhile, Wrapped xx will add a personalised touch with custom-made décor items and handcrafted treats to make every guest feel truly seen and celebrated.
