Cape Town, get ready to be moved. Celebrated South African singer, songwriter, and activist Simphiwe Dana is marking a powerful milestone — 20 Years in Song — with two unforgettable concerts at the Baxter Theatre Concert Hall this June.

Dana’s debut album Zandisile arrived in 2004 and instantly carved a space for her as one of the country’s most unique voices. Two decades later, she reflects on a journey of growth — both personal and vocal — and invites audiences to join her in this moment of reflection and celebration.

“Being consistent with anything for 20 years is a celebration,” says Dana. “This comes at the tail-end of a tumultuous era in my life, but it’s still something to point at and say, I did that. There’s a grounded sense of accomplishment I feel.”

Taking place on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 June 2025 at 19:30, the shows will showcase the depth and breadth of Dana’s music. Expect to hear favourites from across her discography — each song delivered with the richness and introspection that’s made her a beacon for spiritual, social, and creative consciousness.

Known for her thought-provoking lyrics and powerful presence, Dana will be joined on stage by 10 exceptional musicians to deliver an experience that honours her legacy and lights the way for the future.

“I knew I looked different, sounded different, and sang different stories. In hindsight, I was affirming that it’s okay to be exactly who you are — something I think many of us needed to hear,” she reflects.

Cape Town, don’t miss this rare opportunity to celebrate one of South Africa’s most important musical voices — and be reminded of the power of truth, beauty, and song.
