Tails are wagging and excitement is building at the Save-A-Pet Shelter this Sunday, 30 November 2025. Rescue dogs of all shapes, sizes, and personalities are preparing for their moment in the spotlight at the Rescue Dog Show and Planty, Bru! Vegan Market.
From 09:30 to 14:00, the shelter will host a celebration of second chances, where dogs once abandoned or overlooked will strut, sit, and show off their quirks in fun competition categories. Highlights include Top Treat Catcher, Scruffiest/Fluffiest, Cleverest Trick, and even Cartoon Character Dress-Up, each designed to showcase the charm and personality of these lovable rescue pups.
Entry to the dog show is R50 per category, with all funds going directly to the care of Save-A-Pet dogs, covering food, vet bills, and shelter upgrades. Spectators can join the fun for just R20, with free entry for children 10 and under.
Alongside the dog show, the Planty, Bru! vegan market will feature plant-based eats, eco-conscious products, and local artisan crafts. Online radio station The Wireless will live-stream the event, keeping the atmosphere upbeat and welcoming throughout the day.
The Save-A-Pet Shelter, located on Old Cape Road in Greenbushes, has long been a safe haven for dogs in need. Events like this not only raise vital funds but also celebrate the joys of adopting rescue animals.
