Team Prego or Team Chimi? That’s the delicious decision facing South Africans as KFC launches its latest flavour battle and 041Online is giving readers the chance to join the rivalry with one of 20 vouchers worth R150 each.

KFC has officially entered into a rivalry with itself, launching two bold new burgers inspired by legendary international flavours.

The limited-time Taste Rivalry campaign sees the Portuguese-inspired Prego burger go head-to-head with the Argentinian-style Chimichurri burger, inviting customers to decide which flavour deserves the crown.

To celebrate, 041Online is giving away 20 KFC vouchers worth R150 each, giving readers the perfect excuse to settle the debate for themselves.

Two burgers. One winner.

The new Portuguese-inspired Prego burger combines KFC’s famous Original Recipe crispy chicken fillet with a spicy Prego sauce served on a soft Prego bun.

Taking on the challenger is the Chimichurri burger, featuring the same crispy chicken fillet topped with a creamy, tangy Argentinian-style Chimichurri sauce on a sesame seed brioche bun.

Whether you’re all about spicy heat or fresh, herby flavours, KFC wants South Africans to choose a side.

“We looked at two flavour legends and thought: why choose? So we dropped both. Now it’s time for people to pick a side before these burgers retire off the menu. Let the taste rivalry begin,” said Hloni Mohope, Chief Marketing Officer of KFC Africa.
