NMB Students Attend Women Fit For Female Leadership Conference In Germany

WOMEN Fit for Female Leadership conference delegation Hildah Dikhudu, Ofentse Senatle and Gabriella Bower are ready to head back and share what they have learnt about women led sports in Germany.

Hildah Dikhudu (Assistant Madibaz Football & Hockey), Ofentse Senatle (3rd year IIE Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching The IIE’s Varsity College Nelson Mandela Bay) and Gabriella Bower (3rd year IIE Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching The IIE’s Varsity College Nelson Mandela Bay) we’re recently at Volkswagen Arena Autostadt Soccer Stadium in Wolfsburg, Germany taking a break from the Women Fit for Female Leadership conference hosted in Celle, Germany.

The trio are in Germany representing The EC Province as part of a twinning agreement partnership with the State of Lower Saxony, Germany which has been running for the past 25 years and still evolving in various areas of sport exchange programmes.

 The aim of the conference was to equip them with the tools needed to evolve their sport participation with the potential of a future career in sport or a professional career choice and to become women in leadership in their respective sporting codes. They learnt about how to effectively engage in female sports, how to handle the emotional aspects associated with it and how to become women leaders with the ability to uplift other women in their respective sporting codes.  

“After having the opportunity to observe how the Germans implemented women empowerment in sport as well as their place of work and how beneficial it’s been to the growth and success of their institutions, it inspired me to effect a similar change in my city and province with the hope that I’d eventually be able to roll it out nation,” Said Bower.
