Netflix Titles To Keep You Warm This Weekend

FAZIELA HARRIS-DAVIDS:

WITH the winds of winter making going out mighty unpleasant, it best to hang up those keys, and tune into a good show instead. With Netflix providing a wide array of entertainment, from blockbuster movies to nail-biting series, they have it all to keep you entertained for hours. All you need to do is provide the snacks.

Here we share the Top 5 shows currently trending on Netflix South Africa this week:

Fatal Seduction (2023)

No. of Episodes: 7

In this erotic thriller, a university professor in an unhappy marriage begins an illicit affair with a student amid a murder investigation.

Online reviews show that the series is an adaptation of Dark Desire, but remade to suit the South African audience. I have a feeling this one will sit well with booktok.

Young Sheldon (2021)

No. of Episodes: 5 Seasons

Brilliant yet awkward nine-year-old Sheldon Cooper lands in high school where his smarts leave everyone stumped in this “The Big Bang Theory” spin-off.

A fun-loving, smart comedy, that is more heart and love amidst lots of laughs. As someone who thoroughly enjoyed “The Big Bang Theory” series, Young Sheldon is worth the watch.

Survival of the Thickest (2023)

No. of Episodes: 8

After a bad break-up, passionate stylist Mavis Beaumont seizes the opportunity to start over in life and love while finding happiness on her own terms.

Reviews share that the show is light-hearted with a rich celebration of size, diversity and black excellence.

Too Hot to Handle

No of Seasons: 5

They’ve got a shot at $100,000, but to win it, they can’t have sex. Can a private beach and the cool ocean breeze tame these hot serial daters?

It’s a reality show at its finest, with random strangers being put together to see their character development and how it impacts the rest of the contestants.

The Lincoln Lawyer (2023)

No. of Seasons: 2

Plunged into a high-stakes murder trial, LA Defense attorney Mickey Haller is up against a ticking clock, a deceptive client and a deadly threat.

Not to be compared to the movie starring Matthew McConaughey, the series much like the movie is an adaptation of the works by Michael Connelly but starts to deviate towards the end, making it 3 different storylines. So if you’re into law and some justice, this is for you.

So what will you be watching this weekend?
