Uitenhage High School is gearing up for another round of friendly competition and community spirit as it hosts its annual Golf Day on 22 November 2025 at the Uitenhage Golf Course, with Nashua on board as title sponsor.
Established in 1964, the school continues to uphold its proud tradition of excellence and community involvement. Following its 60th anniversary celebrations last year, Uitenhage High shows no signs of slowing down. This year’s Golf Day is another chance for past pupils, staff, and supporters to reconnect and give back.
Funds raised from the event will go towards a major computer lab upgrade, aimed at expanding digital learning opportunities for learners.
“The golf day forms part of our vision to play a meaningful role in society,” said a school representative. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for the Uitenhage High family to come together again. Having Nashua as our title sponsor elevates the event even further, and we’re so grateful for their partnership, as well as the ongoing support from all our other sponsors and community members.”
The school added that local partnerships remain key to its success.
“We can’t do it alone. To make a lasting impact, we rely on strong, community-driven relationships. Every bit of support helps us give learners better access to quality education.”
Over the years, Uitenhage High has built a proud alumni network that continues to play a vital role in the school’s growth. Many past pupils have gone on to become educators, business owners, and community leaders who still return to support school events. The school’s strong sporting culture and commitment to academic excellence remain a point of pride for the wider Kariega community.
The event will follow the IPS format, with plenty of prizes and lucky draws up for grabs. Entries are open to individuals and businesses, and those keen to take part can contact Rochelle Scharnick at 083 579 4162.
Uitenhage High works closely with its Past Pupils and Teachers’ Association (UHPPTA), along with parents and sponsors, to make the day a success. Sponsorship slots are still open for those who would like to donate prizes, sponsor a hole, or enter a four-ball.
