Pretoria is set to host one of the country’s most ambitious creative showcases next weekend as the Mahindra Fusion Fest 2026 returns to SunBet Arena on Saturday, 7 March.
Following its debut last year, the festival is back and this time it is leaning fully into its identity as a cross-disciplinary creative platform where music, fashion and visual art do not just co-exist but actively collaborate.
A Creative Collaboration Across Disciplines
The 2026 edition will see 15 music artists fusing with four fashion designers and four graphic artists across a series of genre-blending performances, all staged within an arena-scale production setup.
Rather than presenting standalone sets, Fusion Fest pairs creatives across disciplines, with each performance designed as a shared storytelling experience. Designers, musicians and visual artists work together to build immersive moments that evolve throughout the night, from live performance and choreography to digital visuals and garment design.
A Fully Immersive Arena Experience
Production-wise, audiences can expect a fully transformed SunBet Arena, complete with large-format screens, kinetic draping and a dynamic stage setup that shifts with each collaboration.
More than 14 cameras will capture the performances in real time, while lighting, sound and pyrotechnics work together to create what organisers describe as a multi-sensory show environment.
Spotlight on Emerging Talent
Ahead of the festival, the event’s national creative competitions have drawn submissions from across South Africa.
In the Fashion category, finalists Sinekamva Xali, Andile Cele, Tukisho Machina, Zeshaan Samodien and Refilwe Motsekedi are currently refining their designs under the mentorship of Thula Sindi, with the winning designer set to walk away with a R30 000 cash prize on the night.
Cape Town-based artist Anda Mncayi has been selected as the winner of the Art Competition, with his work forming part of the festival’s immersive visual landscape.
