Gqeberha-born author, homesteader and book reviewer Luna Hayes recently joined Exclusive Books for a coffee morning to celebrate that her books will now be available in-store. The event highlighted Hayes’ growing body of work and her passion for storytelling, rooted in both local and international influences.
Hayes already has three books published, with her fourth title set for release soon. All of them are part of a planned nine-book series set in the fictional town of *Lockhart Falls*. The series combines heartfelt romance with the charm of small-town living and appeals to readers who enjoy stories that are light, full of love and about discovery.
Exclusive Books manager **Mark** expressed his pride in supporting local talent. “I love showcasing local authors and it is such a privilege to give platforms to voices like Luna’s. These gatherings are about more than books, they are about community.”
Guests were encouraged to ask Hayes questions. She explained that her best ideas often come at unexpected times—late at night, early mornings or during walks. To capture them she often sends herself voice notes that later become part of her stories.
She also said that her time working in Scotland when she was younger influences her sense of small-town life in her books. At the same time she includes many local elements readers in South Africa will recognise.
When talking about genres Hayes explained that while she loves mysteries and thrillers, she does not like mixing romance with darker or more suspenseful elements. Her stories are always uplifting, full of love and discovery.
Her books so far include:
I Did, Did I?
Love at First Light
Friends with Zenefits
Baking Me Crazy (coming soon)
With more books in the works, Luna Hayes is fast becoming one of the region’s most engaging voices in romance fiction. Lockhart Falls is a world that is growing with each new release, and her fans can look forward to many more stories set in that lovingly crafted town.
