Loads of Action On and Off the Field at T20 Challenge

This Saturday promises a thrilling day of cricket and fanfare at the Dafabet St George’s Park Cricket Stadium as the Dafabet Warriors take on the Momentum Multiply Titans in a critical match of the CSA T20 Challenge. With a semi-final spot on the line, the Warriors are determined to secure a place in the top four, making this their last home game before the qualifiers and finals.

Currently sitting fourth on the log with two wins and three losses, the Warriors have everything to play for. Their most recent game saw them narrowly defeated by the Goldrush Boland on Wednesday, October 17.

“Of course, we are pretty disappointed we did not end up on the right side of the result. That is two games we have lost by a narrow margin during this campaign,” said coach Robin Peterson. “But I thought the batting group did ok. It is never easy chasing totals above 150 at Paarl, and it was an achievement for our young batting line-up to end 11 short. They learned a lot, and I am happy with that chase.”

Peterson also acknowledged the team’s challenges with the ball, adding: “We were wide of the mark in terms of what we tried to achieve with the ball. On Saturday, there is a lot to play for against the Titans, and it’s an opportunity to put it right and get ourselves into that semi-final spot.”

The Titans, third on the log, will provide stiff competition for the Warriors, but Peterson believes the team is ready for the challenge. “I think the group has grown nicely over the campaign, and they are so excited to put things right in front of the home crowd at St George’s Park,” he said.

The match starts at 6 pm, but the action begins much earlier, with gates opening at 12 pm. Fans can enjoy a curtain-raiser as Woodridge takes on Daniel Pienaar in a T20 format, starting at 1 pm.

Fans attending the game have more to look forward to beyond the on-field action. Three lucky draw attendance prizes of R1,500 will be given out, and fans who show up in their Warrior colours will have the chance to double the prize! Plus, students from accredited tertiary institutions stand a chance to win R100,000 in tuition fees just by attending the match—terms and conditions apply.

Make sure to arrive early and support your team as the Warriors fight for a place in the finals. It’s bound to be an electrifying day of cricket and excitement for fans of all ages.
