KARIEGA-based naturalist hair lover and business owner Nasarah Williams-Witbooi invites other small business owners to join her for the town’s first natural hair festival at VW People Pavilion.

“Guests can expect a family fun kind of day. A market where you can purchase hair care products or just get your hair done. Have some amazing food and some awesome goodies. Luckily draws and modelling pageants with the best hair. Just really a good time,” she says about the October 21 event.
Williams-Witbooi is excited about the event and believes that it could be a Kariega flagship event. “I’m a natural girl myself, and know how tough this journey can be. Many times you think you are struggling alone and then you’ll find that there are so many other people having the same problem, I feel like this event can bridge that gap, especially with so much of what we see online is not accessible locally,” she said adding that she also hopes that the event can help boost local businesses.
Williams-Witbooi invites anyone whose business focuses on natural hair to sign up and celebrate coils, curls and everything in between.
“We have vendors and sponsors onboard who focus on hair care products and hair-related accessories as well as local crafters and food vendors, but I’m looking to sign up more likeminded people because I believe that if we come together as a town we can make this event something to be truly proud of,” she said.
The family-focused event will feature a hair show and fashion from the Kariega-based fashion brand, Truly Karin.
Mrs SA 2024 finalist Ashleigh Nyiki- Du Plessis owner of Ash2Glam is one of the featured vendors, specialising in wigs.
When it comes to entertainment Sherano Jacobs aka Dj Ranie winner of the Viceroy Makoya Mix Competition 2023 will be on the decks.
