The inaugural GQ Comedy Festival arrives in Gqeberha(18–19 December 2025) this week, bringing some of South Africa’s top comedians to the city.
The first-ever GQ Comedy Festival lands in Gqeberha this weekend, turning the iconic Roof Garden Bar at 33 Winston Ntshona Street, Gqeberha Central, into a two-day celebration of comedy, culture, and summer vibes.
Hosted by GQ Comedy, the festival brings together some of South Africa’s funniest comedians for a packed programme of stand-up shows, rooftop line-up performances, live DJs, and all-day activations. The line-up includes Robby Collins, Ndumiso Lindi, Nina Hastie, Ntosh Madlingozi, Emilio Tobias, Chris Mapane, KG Mokgadi, Jaryd Pillay, Siya Seya, and more.
“This festival has been years in the making. To finally bring it to life in Gqeberha, and to do it with this line-up, is huge for the city,” says Festival Director and Comedian Emilio Tobias.
