It’s Stuff Your Kindle Day! (A few days this week actually). And for those of you who aren’t exactly sure how to go about getting your hands on some of the thousands of free titles on offer 041BOOKS columnist Lauren Hewitt has you covered.
What is Stuff Your Kindle Day?
It’s a 24-hour period where a large number of Kindle titles are absolutely free on Amazon. And with the huge variety and sheer volume of titles you grab as many as you can!
There are 3 “Stuff Your Kindle” days starting today!
23 April: Romances: all the subgenres of romance too.
25 April: Cosy mysteries
27 April: Witchy themed
(The fantasy date hasn’t been shared yet)
And this can be so overwhelming and downright intimidating.
Where do you even start?
Firstly, you don’t need a Prime account or a Kindle Unlimited account, a regular Amazon account will work. And you don’t even need a physical Kindle!
Downloading the Kindle app onto your phone or tablet is simple and has no membership fees.
- Check the timezone it starts and ends and use Google to determine what time it will be in your local time zone- set a reminder if you need to so that you don’t forget!
- Make sure you click on the buy now for free button and not the read now button, or you’ll be limited to around 20 titles. Read now applies to Kindle Unlimited.
- Also, make sure that it does say buy now for free before you click on it, or you will obviously be charged- sometimes errors do happen and some books may only be available in certain territories.

- Stuff Your Kindle Day is predominantly Indie authors and they love people becoming aware of their books, so why not share and tag the author on social media when you’ve downloaded their book to spread the love. And be sure to leave a review when you have read it.
