How Lelive Turned My Winter Shower Into a Self-Care Ritual

Winter and I have a complicated relationship.

On the one hand, I love blankets, coffee and having a perfectly good excuse to spend an entire Sunday indoors. On the other hand, my skin absolutely hates it.

Every winter, my skin seems to become drier, duller and generally less enthusiastic about life. So when Woolworths Walmer Park Beauty invited me to try the Lelive range, I decided it was the perfect excuse for a proper winter everything shower.

You know the kind. The shower where you don’t rush. The one where you scrub, mask, moisturise and emerge feeling like you’ve got your life together, even if it’s only for the next few hours.

The scrub that converted me

The first product I reached for was the Good to Glow Smooth + Renew Body Exfoliator.

I’ve used plenty of body scrubs over the years and, if I’m honest, many of them feel like you’re sanding down a piece of furniture. They get the job done, but they’re not exactly pleasant.

Lelive’s scrub was different.

It felt much gentler and less coarse than what I’m used to, while still leaving my skin feeling smooth and refreshed. Instead of feeling stripped or irritated afterwards, my skin felt soft and polished.

For someone whose skin takes a beating during winter, that was a very welcome surprise.

The cleanest body wash I’ve used in years

Then came the Clean Slate Cleanse + Renew Body Wash.

Now, a body wash isn’t usually something I get excited about, but this one deserves a mention.

It left my skin feeling genuinely clean. Not tight. Not dry. Just incredibly fresh.

My husband ended up trying it too.

“I feel squeaky clean,” he announced after his shower.

Then he laughed and said it reminded him of being a child when his mom would make sure he was extra clean before the first day of a new school term.

And honestly? That’s exactly the feeling.

It’s that rare balance of feeling thoroughly cleansed without feeling like all the moisture has been stripped from your skin.

The moisture step my winter skin needed

After the shower came the rest of the routine.

I used the Seatox Detox + Clarify Mask, which gave me the perfect excuse to sit still for a few minutes and enjoy a little self-care. Afterwards, my skin felt softer, calmer and noticeably more refreshed.

Next came the All Glow’d Up Brighten + Clarify Serum, which absorbed beautifully and left my skin looking brighter and more hydrated.

I followed that with The Du-Pont Extra Nourishment Moisturiser, a rich cream that felt like exactly what my winter skin had been craving. Despite its nourishing formula, it didn’t feel heavy or greasy.

To finish everything off, I applied Oil La La Brighten + Glow Body Oil.

I’ve always been slightly cautious about body oils because I don’t enjoy feeling sticky. Thankfully, this one absorbed quickly and left my skin feeling soft, nourished and glowing. Instead of sitting on top of my skin, it felt like it genuinely sank in and did its job.

More than just skincare

What surprised me most wasn’t any individual product.

It was how the entire routine made me feel.

Somewhere between the scrub, the body wash, the face mask and the body oil, my shower stopped feeling like something I needed to do and became something I actually looked forward to.

Life gets busy. Between work deadlines, family responsibilities and the general chaos of adulthood, self-care can easily slip to the bottom of the list.

The Lelive range reminded me that taking 20 extra minutes for yourself isn’t indulgent. Sometimes it’s exactly what you need.

Where I’d start if you’re new to Lelive

One thing worth mentioning is that Lelive sits in the premium skincare space, so this isn’t necessarily the kind of range most people will buy all at once.

If I were building my collection gradually, there are two products I’d recommend starting with.

First would be the Seatox Detox + Clarify Mask (R159.50). It was one of the standout products for me and surprisingly became a favourite in our house. Even my husband enjoyed using it, which is not something I can say about most skincare products that make their way into our bathroom.

My second recommendation would be the Clean Slate Cleanse + Renew Body Wash (R289). Out of everything I tried, this was the product that made the biggest immediate impression. It left both of us feeling incredibly clean without drying out our skin, and it’s the product I’ve found myself reaching for most often.

That said, I genuinely enjoyed every product in the range. Whether you’re looking for a new body wash, a nourishing moisturiser, a gentle exfoliator, a glow-boosting body oil or a hardworking serum, there’s something in the Lelive collection worth exploring.

Sometimes the best approach is simply to start with one product and see where it takes you.

If your skin is feeling as confused by winter as mine was, the Lelive range might be worth adding to your next Woolworths Walmer Park Beauty visit.

Just don’t blame me when your quick shower turns into an everything shower.
