YOU can help Reach for a Dream make a memorable difference in the life of a child fighting a life-threatening illness by donating or volunteering.
The Foundation has been providing dreams to children all around the country for over 33 years with the aim of alleviating the strain that life-threatening illnesses place on sick children and their families
These young children are under extreme pressure to deal with medical issues and are in desperate need of encouragement. For this reason, Reach For A Dream offers the child a magical moment to regain their childhood that is being lost to an illness.
One such child is Lethokuhle Hlobo (pictured) a three-year-old from Gqeberha who is obsessed with Spiderman, who he lovingly calls “Stoppaman”.
His dream of meeting the friendly neighbourhood hero came true when Reach for a Dream arranged for Spidey himself to show up for a surprise visit. An excited Letho also had smaller dreams come true in the shape of toys and Spiderman accessories.
To end off Letho’s dream day, he enjoyed a meal at Wimpy with his family where he dramatically re-told the story about how he met the real “Stoppaman” who brought him all his special toys and insisted that he didn’t even cry once! All the way home this little boy was talking about Stoppaman, even his granny and their neighbour had to come out to hear his tale.

Volunteer
Connecting with children and helping to make their dreams come true is a unique and rewarding experience. Reach For A Dream gives volunteers the chance to create lasting memories with dreamers and take part in making a positive difference in their lives.
As a volunteer, you will be able to get involved in all aspects of the work Reach For a Dream does, from handing over dreams that the team has prepared for each dreamer, to assisting in various outings or even fundraising events. Through connecting with dreamers, you will gain personal growth and development as well as insight into understanding how vital it is to reach out and help those in need.
Volunteer Intake
Reach for a Dream will do two volunteering intakes this year: from 1 March to 15 April 2023 and from 1 August to 15 September 2023. All you have to do is complete the form on their website to apply as a volunteer, Please note that you need to be over the age of 18 and have a driver’s license to volunteer.
