Twins Jenna and Cassandra Stopforth (IIE Bachelor of Arts) shared the stage at IIE’s Varsity College Nelson Mandela Bay’s recent graduation ceremony, graduating with distinction.
The pair were among The Class of 2023 graduates at the recent graduation ceremony held at the Boardwalk Convention Center, both graduating with distinction: Jenna with 81%, and Cassandra with 78%.
They thrive on hard work and dedication and graduating with distinction was the plan from the outset. “We motivated and challenged one another, and, at times, had to drag each other out of our respective slumps to get working again”, said Jenna.
A great challenge the sisters faced from a young age was the fact their achievements were always compared. This changed when they pursued their own academic interests and when they excelled individually during their studies at The IIE’s Varsity College Nelson Mandela Bay.
“The relationship I had with my lecturers made it easy to reach out and ask for help when I needed it. The feedback, guidance and constructive criticism has helped shape me into who I am today,” said Cassandra.
In pursuit of her childhood dream of becoming a teacher, Jenna is studying towards her IIE Postgraduate Certificate in Education in Senior Phase & Further Education & Training Teaching and Cassandra, in pursuit of her childhood dream of becoming a Psychologist, is studying towards her IIE Bachelor of Arts Honours in Psychology.
