Plant-Based Vibes: Gqeberha Hosts First Vegan Music & Arts Festival

Gqeberha’s event scene is about to get a fresh and vibrant addition with the launch of the Vegan Music & Arts Festival—a first-of-its-kind celebration of creativity, sustainability, and community. Organized by Planty, Bru in collaboration with Listen Live Afrika, the festival will take place on 8 March 2025 at Isithatha Theatre in Walmer, a venue renowned for its commitment to the arts.

More Than Just an Event—A Movement

This festival isn’t just about music and art—it’s a call to embrace a more sustainable and compassionate lifestyle. Showcasing some of Gqeberha’s finest musical acts, the lineup includes Umle Sound, 2Brus, Asanda Bam, and Zamani Mbotho, with additional artists selected through an open call. Attendees can expect a fusion of soulful sounds and creative expression, all set against a backdrop of plant-based living and eco-conscious initiatives.

Giving Back to the Community

In the spirit of community upliftment, the festival will also host a food drive to support an orphanage facing food insecurity. Local businesses and attendees are encouraged to contribute, with organizers providing a curated list of essential items for donations.
