From Singing With Gaga to Singing as Her: Andrea Boudrey Brings Gaga & Glam to Port Elizabeth

Port Elizabeth is going Gaga and Glam, and at the centre of it is a familiar local voice.

Andrea Boudrey first shared a stage with Lady Gaga in 2012 during the Born This Way Ball tour in Cape Town, a once-in-a-lifetime fan experience that helped shape her as a performer. Now, she brings that connection full circle in Gaga & Glam, her upcoming live show at Nineteen33, where she steps into Gaga’s iconic music alongside the hits of other legendary divas.

A performer shaped by connection

Music has been central to Andrea’s life since she was nine, when piano lessons led to vocal training. Even before formal lessons, performing felt natural. She grew up seizing every stage opportunity at Victoria Park High School and carried that passion into formal studies, earning a Bachelor of Music degree.

She expanded her skills across multiple instruments and performed internationally with the NMU Choir in China, Singapore, and Macau. Each experience deepened her understanding of music not just as performance, but as a way to connect with people.

Gaga & Glam: personal and powerful

While Andrea has created several tribute-style productions, Gaga & Glam is particularly personal. Lady Gaga has been a constant in her life since 2008, influencing both her artistry and confidence.

Meeting Gaga on stage in 2012 confirmed what Andrea admired about the artist: not just the spectacle, but the authenticity and humanity behind it. Gaga & Glam honours that connection while expanding the show to include the music of Madonna, Whitney Houston, Cher, Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Gaynor, Diana Ross, and Donna Summer.

Balancing hits, heart, and energy

Song selection focused on the hits audiences instantly recognise and love. Supporting performers were carefully chosen to add balance, energy, and variety, making the show both theatrical and emotionally engaging from start to finish.

Proudly local

For Andrea, the show is also about celebrating local talent. She hopes audiences leave feeling seen, inspired, and proud of Port Elizabeth’s creative community. That perspective was strengthened when she became an Oppi Noot Finalist, representing the Eastern Cape nationally and placing third overall. The experience shaped her confidence and approach to performance.

Bringing it home

Gaga & Glam takes place at Nineteen33, a venue Andrea performs at regularly and one she describes as intimate and perfect for live music. For her, performing this show in Port Elizabeth is about sharing her story, celebrating individuality, and creating a space where audiences feel they belong.
