Adventure, teamwork and conservation will come together this August as Valley Crag Indoor Climbing Centre hosts the Forever Rhino Rally Amazing Race, inviting businesses, friends and community groups to experience Nelson Mandela Bay in a completely different way.
Taking place on Saturday, 29 August 2026, the event combines the excitement of a scavenger hunt with the thrill of The Amazing Race, all while raising awareness for rhino conservation and other environmental initiatives.
Explore the Bay one clue at a time
Teams of three to five people will travel by vehicle from Gqeberha to Thornhill and back, solving clues and completing challenges along the route.
Participants will visit a variety of locations that showcase what Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism has to offer, with each completed challenge revealing the clue to the next destination.
Organisers encourage teams to include at least one adventurous member, as some tasks are designed to test participants’ courage, creativity and teamwork.
More than just a race
Hosted by Valley Crag Indoor Climbing Centre, the event aims to create a fun day out while shining a spotlight on the importance of protecting rhinos and supporting broader conservation efforts.
Whether you’re entering with colleagues for some friendly corporate rivalry, challenging another church group or gathering a group of friends, the rally promises a memorable day of exploration and problem-solving.
