Finding Focus: Women’s Circle Hosts Inspiring First Workshop

The Women’s Circle hosted its first quarterly workshop of the year this morning, continuing a tradition that has been running for two years, bringing together a dynamic group of women from across Nelson Mandela Bay for a morning of empowerment, networking, and insightful discussion. Held at the scenic Beach Hotel, the sold-out event, themed Finding Focus, encouraged attendees to embrace mindfulness and intentional living.

The highlight of the gathering was keynote speaker Michelle Brown PR, who captivated the audience with her wisdom on maintaining focus in an increasingly distracted world. Her message resonated deeply with the attendees, as she shared strategies for prioritising what truly matters.

Committee members also took the stage to offer personal insights on how they navigate focus in their own lives. Their practical tips served as a guiding light for many in the room, reinforcing the importance of living in the present. One standout piece of advice was to harness the power of now, with a reminder that worrying is much like a rocking chair—it keeps you occupied but ultimately takes you nowhere. Additional insights included finding ways to bring oneself into the moment, whether through exercise, meditation or simply listening to those around you.

Michelle Brown also shared that finding focus often means shifting focus, something the PR professional of 35 years had to do when COVID hit and her primary work of event management dried up. “I had to utilize my strengths and not focus on my weaknesses, see how I could make the best of my situation,” she said. She now regularly lectures online to people around the world, sharing her expertise on business, events, branding, and more.

Over coffee and cookies, attendees were encouraged to put down their phones, give their full attention to the people around them, and practice being present in their daily interactions. The event fostered an environment of support, with participants leaving inspired to implement these newfound focus strategies in both their personal and professional lives.

With such an impactful debut, the Women’s Circle’s quarterly workshops are poised to become a key fixture in the local community. As the event concluded, many attendees expressed excitement for the next gathering, eager to continue their journey toward clarity, purpose, and meaningful connection.
