The Eastern Cape is rolling out the red carpet for its tourism sector with the launch of the inaugural Eastern Cape Tourism Awards & Expo (ECTA). Taking place at Mentors Country Estate from September 25–27, 2025, during Tourism Month, this event is set to celebrate innovation, excellence, and growth in one of South Africa’s most diverse regions.
“This initiative will spotlight the exceptional contributions of stakeholders across the Eastern Cape’s tourism landscape,” shared Nqobile Nobs Qupe, ECTA Committee Member.
Riaaz Lorgat, Director of FED Kouga Municipality, echoed this, saying, “The awards will solidify the Eastern Cape’s position as a premier tourism destination, recognizing achievements across various sectors.”

Tourism businesses, big or small, are encouraged to participate by entering the awards or attending the Expo. Nominations open on March 1, 2025, and close on April 15, 2025.
