THIS Women’s Day saw the birth of a new Nelson Mandela Bay initiative, Flawless Force Org, that aims to empower women in the Bay.
“Our first annual Meritorious Women’s Day was a great success. The event was attended by numerous women from all walks of life who witnessed the birth of the organisation,” said Viwe Anderson co-founder of the organisation.
The successful event saw businesswoman, runner and reality TV star Liz Prins and Director and Specialist Midwife of Oxytocin Family clinic Desiree Joseph speak to a packed house at ARA VISTA in Humewood.
“The main goal of the initiative was to bring a powerful and diverse force of women together, to empower and draw inspiration from one another was greatly achieved. We are grateful to our guest speakers, various sponsors, attendees as well as every other individual who took part in making this a success,” she said.
“Flawless Force was founded by myself and Aisha Vadalia both married with beautiful kids. We both come from very different and diverse cultures. I used to work for a bank and Aisha was also employed. We were both running our separate businesses. We then later resigned to focus on our businesses and birthed new ventures in the process,” said Anderson adding that they wanted to find a way to give back.
The pair hope to become the; “number one leading organisation in birthing and nurturing future women leaders. To make sure all our fellow sisters in need are taken care of”.
The duo have plans for more events with proceeds to give back to pregnant women in local clinics by donating baby items.
“After this Meritorious Women’s Day event. We plan on ‘taking a girl child to work’ by working closely with thriving female-owned companies in PE, showing the importance of tertiary education.
“Our next event will be centred around 16 days of activism against women and child abuse which will be an awareness more than anything. Next year we plan on starting a drive around ‘shoes for school’ to donate to those needy little footsies starting grade 1 to 6 through extensive requests for sponsorship,” they said.
“Being a mom ourselves, we understand the pressure put on us to be fully present at our homes but also show up fully to the public, that’s no child’s play. A Meritorious Woman is what ALL women out there who strive to be a better version of themselves. This is a reminder of how powerful you are, how much of force you are, you deserve ALL the praise – for being commendable in what all women do and with worthwhile qualities.”
