Coming Clean: Chantal Harris Returns with her Compelling Show, ADHD, the Bottle and Me

Chantal Harris is a newcomer on the Gqeberha comedy scene, known for her witty insights and candid storytelling. She invites audiences on a heartfelt journey this Friday (June 21) with her show, ADHD, the Bottle and Me.

March 5th, 15 years ago, marks the day local comedian Chantal Harris drove into rehab with a
Bloody Mary in hand – perhaps a triple shot, but who’s counting?

In her debut solo show, ADHD, the Bottle and Me, Harris bravely explores her journey through alcohol addiction intertwined with her ADHD diagnosis. A fresh face on the Gqeberha comedy circuit, Harris brings her irreverent humour and optimistic spirit to reflect on the tumultuous decisions
and unexpected twists of her life.

With a hint of scepticism, she wonders if comedy might just be another misstep. Join Harris as she navigates the complexities of discovery and recovery.

“It’ll be a bit funny, maybe a bit sad, but hopefully, it resonates with many,” Harris shares.

Directed by Sophie Joans, renowned actor, playwright, comedian, and director, the show is a dynamic work in progress. Joans’ penchant for the absurd and extensive stage experience adds layers of comedy to Harris’ narrative.

“Chantal’s writing is witty and heartwarming, weaving delightful twists into a powerful story. Her performance is uproarious. It’s a privilege to collaborate on this project,” Joans remarks.

Adding to the evening’s entertainment, local musicians and vocalists Onyx and Milo Nirvana will serenade the audience with soulful melodies, while comedians Nolwazi Nkwandla and Kyle Haupt provide comic relief. Hannah Bezuidenhout, with her effervescent personality, anchors the event as the evening’s host.

For a night of laughter, reflection, and community, don’t miss Chantal Harris in, ADHD, the Bottle and Me.

ADHD, the Bottle and Me will take place on June 21 at 6:30 pm at Isithatha Theatre, 12 9th Avenue, Walmer.

Tickets are R80 each and available online via Quicket or directly from Chantal on 069 196 4098.
A cash bar will be available.
