There’s something about a motorshow that brings out the kid in almost everyone. Even if you can’t tell what’s happening under the bonnet, there’s still something satisfying about wandering between beautiful cars, grabbing something good to eat and making a day of it.
And on Saturday, 29 August, Nelson Mandela Bay families will have an excuse to do exactly that.
The Alles-op-Wiele Motorshow is heading to HTS Daniel Pienaar in Uitenhage for a full day of cars, food, shopping and entertainment, with enough happening beyond the motoring displays to keep the whole family busy.
Come for the cars, stay for the day
Running from 09:00 to 16:30, the motorshow will bring together automotive stalls and displays for those who genuinely do know what’s happening under the bonnet.
But you definitely don’t need to be a petrolhead to enjoy the day.
There will also be food stalls, a craft market, tea garden and kids’ entertainment, giving parents plenty of reason to turn a quick look at the cars into a proper Saturday outing.
Concept Crew, with its focus on motoring “past to present”, will also be part of the day’s attractions.
For visitors travelling from further afield, hostel accommodation will be available.
A budget-friendly family outing
With the cost of family outings adding up quickly, the gate prices are another reason this one might be worth adding to the August calendar.
Adult tickets are R75, children pay R25 and pensioners R65. Children under 10 get in free.
So whether you’re going for the cars, looking for something different to do with the kids or simply want an excuse to browse some stalls with a snack in hand, Alles-op-Wiele looks set to offer a little something for everyone.
