Social media has put so much pressure on couples to have aesthetically pleasing dates and let’s just face it, these milestones set up by social media just isn’t doable for hard-working and busy people. However, doing something for the person you love doesn’t need to break the bank. Here’s a few budget-friendly date ideas that will definitely make your partner feel special.
Dinner at home
We all eat supper right so why not do a little extra step by setting the table?
Instead of sitting in front of the TV, leave it off,use some candles or flowers to make the table look cute. Use the nice plates and glasses. And have a conversation – no phones just talking. Food doesn’t need to be fancy (as seen in picture below)
Another great idea is making use of little games. Hear me out, place a sheet of paper down as your tablecloth and bring some pens to the table. Play a few rounds of tic-tac-toe, some hangman even. Just make the “supper time” not feel like “supper time”
Easy like a Sunday morning
Pack some snacks and take a drive along the Marina. Port Elizabeth has so many beautiful little spots along Marine Drive. Find a cute spot, pop open the boot, and have goodies ready to snack and drink as you breathe in the fresh air and gather yourself for the new week ahead.
A few great spots to try out include Sardinia Bay, the dunes and the sunset are so beautiful to watch. Sacramento has a gorgeous sea view, and there’s an easy hiking path to take in the wonderful view and fresh air.
A newly renovated St Peters ruins has beautiful views of the harbour and the freeway arched by the historic buildings in the CBD.
A cute little walk-through area with a friendly caretaker named Michael. Learn a bit of the history of the old South End days, which I’m sure many of our parents have told us about…
Movies in the lounge
Pop some popcorn and make up a snack basket. Make a list of Movies and put them in a jar, pull 1 out randomly and that will be the flick for the night. You can keep the jar of Movies and do a movie date every weekend until all the movies have been watched. Such a cute idea for those “lazy” weekends.
You really don’t need to break the bank for a little cute date. Just a little bit of creativity, and an open mind to try something different every now and then. I hope these ideas spark something romantic and cute for you and your partner. Let us know if you have any other ideas. Let’s share the love…
Don’t forget to sprinkle some kindness…
