The 2020s has been a decade characterized by uninspired sequels and remakes, where anyone with any sort of valuable intellectual property is shipping it back out for a quick buck.
Some reimaginings were quite solid, looking at you Wednesday Addams, while others… well let’s say others were pretty much a shameless cash grab with no regard for the viewer or the people who have to live amongst the viewers. If I see another live-action adaptation of a beloved anime series I’m going to lose it.
None worse than the new initiative being undertaken by the head of the “Board Of Peace” in Iran.
Now for those of us who already know what the UN is and are wondering what the heck the board of peace is, it is an organisation established by Donald Trump to promote peace around the world. After Trump took the decision to remove the United States from a number of global organisations such as the World Health Organisation, the introduction of illegal tariffs, and literally stealing the leader of a foreign country and making him put on a Nike tracksuit, the irony of the leader of the most violent nation on Earth establishing a board of peace is quite frankly delicious.
Since I know your appetite for irony is as veracious as my own, let me give you another plate, baby. Since 2011, the orange one has been tweeting about how President Barack Obama was poised to start a war with Iran to “save face”. Fast forward 15 years and here we are, in a nice two course meal of irony with a side of Epstein files.
Now, without spending too much time on the most sexless name for an operation ever, lol… Epic Fury… 2010 called, it wants its slang back. The current violation of Iran’s sovereignty in the name of peace is our little ironic dessert.
All across media we see misleading posts that inform the public of civilian deaths, but seem to conveniently forget to include a subject or object to the headline.
The unelected chairman of the board of peace, for life by the way, which is a very important caveat, claims that the conflict, they don’t call it a war for legal reasons, is aimed at ensuring stability in the Middle East, preventing Iran from gaining weapons of mass destruction, while protecting their strategic ally in the same region, who has numerous nuclear weapons that they refuse to disclose because they refuse to sign any treaty that can curtail or monitor their production of nuclear weapons.
Oh look at that, an irony aperitif to wash it all down. The most unstable people are charged with maintaining stability in a country that has nothing to do with either of them. Fun.
In essence, I write all this to say I was wrong about DJT’s intentions with South Africa, and thank black Jesus for that. The goal was the same, but thankfully we were not the target, not yet anyway.
The board of peace is a body specifically designed to protect United States interests around the world without being held back by pesky treaties and agreements and rules of engagement. Much like their Middle East adjacent friends, the United States is now seeking to avoid breaking the law by creating an environment where the laws technically do not apply to them anymore.
The board of peace is an invite-only committee who only invite members that the chairman, for life, personally invites or approves of. It is a danger to the civilized world and a symbol to the global south that “they” are done playing nice with us.
They tried to be decent, normal people, but now that this president has created an environment where there’s no incentive to treat darker, queer or female people like human beings, well they no longer really care to keep pretending.
If you think I’m exaggerating or over reacting you’re within your right to believe that. But just look at the logo. It should tell you exactly who Mr Chairman for life seeks to secure peace for, even if it means creating chaos for everyone who is not under his “protection”.
Oh, also by the way, not a single country on the continent of Africa was invited to join the board so take that North Africans. We’ve been telling you guys light skin ain’t white skin. You’re one of us and about to join us as the cast of…
