The iconic Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series is back for 2026 and entries for the first two races open this Thursday, 11 December 2025. Runners in both Gqeberha and Cape Town can secure their spots for two of South Africa’s most-loved 10km events, known for fast routes, big crowds and world-class race day vibes.

Spanning five major cities, the series brings together elite runners, running clubs and thousands of everyday athletes who want to take on a city route with energy, scenery and atmosphere.

Gqeberha & Cape Town kick off the 2026 series

“We are excited to kick off the 2026 Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series by opening entries for the first two of five iconic races,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and Series Founder.

He adds that both events continue to deliver “world-class racing and an unforgettable atmosphere,” with 2026 marking the 4th Gqeberha 10K and the 11th Cape Town 10K.

Gqeberha’s coastal stretch, big crowd support and famously friendly host city energy remain a highlight. Cape Town brings its own magic with iconic scenery, vibrant streets and one of SA’s strongest running cultures.
