“The Wiz” at Alexander Road High School is nothing short of magical—but what truly makes it extraordinary is the army of talented students who bring it all to life, both on and off the stage!
The moment the curtain rises, it’s clear that this is more than just a school production. The voices on stage are gripping, each performer delivering powerhouse vocals and emotional depth that keep the audience spellbound. Behind the scenes, a world of effort, creativity, and dedication unfolds.
The backstage team—entirely made up of students—deserves a standing ovation of their own. The makeup artists transform the cast with incredible skill, bringing characters to life with vivid designs. Meanwhile, the student costume team pours their hearts into hand-making the munchkin costumes, every stitch a testament to weeks of planning and hard work.
Set pieces and props, including dazzling hand-crafted disco balls, are all created by students who give up evenings, weekends, and free periods to build the vibrant world of Oz.
Stage management, lighting, cues, and quick changes are flawlessly handled by student crews, proving their professionalism under pressure.
Even the front-of-house operations are led by students—ushers greet guests with enthusiasm, and the tuck shop buzzes with young entrepreneurs ensuring everyone has a snack in hand before the curtain goes up.
This performance isn’t just a show—it’s a powerful showcase of student talent, teamwork, and tireless dedication. Every costume, cue, and chorus line is backed by countless hours of unseen effort, and the result is a production that dazzles from every angle.
Bravo to the entire cast and crew of The Wiz. Your hard work, creativity, and passion light up the stage—and leave us all in awe!
