The Pink Lounge Invites Gqeberha Women to Find Their Voice and Claim Their Space

A women-only gathering in Gqeberha is creating space for honest conversation, community, laughter and a little singing this September.

The Pink Lounge, created by Gqeberha comedian Chantal Harris, returns on Wednesday, 9 September 2026 with its latest gathering, Find Your Voice & Claim Your Space.

Taking place at Nineteen33 in Fairview, the evening will bring women together for an intimate event centred on mental wellness, connection and the ways women can become more comfortable taking up space in their own lives.

Unlike a traditional networking event or formal panel discussion, The Pink Lounge describes itself as an intentional, secular women-only collective where attendees are encouraged to show up as they are.

Finding your voice, literally and figuratively

This month’s gathering adds an interesting element to the conversation: communal singing.

The evening will begin with a facilitated communal singing session exploring the idea of finding your voice both literally and figuratively.

Singing will be used as a tool for connection, emotional regulation and collective expression, before the evening moves into a discussion about what it means for women to claim their space.

Motivational coach Bernadene Oosthuizen will lead the second part of the evening, looking at the ways women often de-prioritise themselves and how they can begin making themselves, their needs and their voices a priority.

“We want to unpack the complex, sensitive realities women navigate daily without the pressure of a debate club or a formal therapy session,” Harris says.

“By prioritising mutual accountability, shared laughter, and joy as forms of resistance, we build a space where women can show up exactly as they are.”

Creating community for Gqeberha women

The Pink Lounge aims to create an alternative to spaces where women may feel pressure to network, perform or have all the answers.

Instead, its gatherings focus on discussion, reflection and community, with the smaller format allowing conversations to remain personal and intentional.

The September event continues that approach by exploring something many women can relate to: learning to use their voices, prioritise themselves and confidently occupy the spaces they are already in.
