Bless Her with PJs: Help 041Online Make Five Women Feel Seen This Mother’s Day

There is something quietly powerful about being seen.

This Mother’s Day, 041Online is partnering with the Bless Her with PJs initiative to do exactly that. Together, we are helping make five women in our community feel special, supported and cared for in a way that many do not often experience.

And we need your help.

A Simple Idea With a Real Impact

The Bless Her with PJs initiative, led by Roxanne Van Rooyen, started with a simple but confronting realisation. Something as basic as comfortable sleepwear is not a given for everyone.

What many of us consider everyday essentials are, for some women, out of reach.

“I saw a post that made me realise that even things like pyjamas or slippers are not accessible to everyone. It stayed with me,” Roxanne shares. “So I wanted to do something small that could make someone feel cared for.”

From that moment, the idea grew into something more meaningful. A community-led effort to give back in a tangible, personal way.

What the Initiative Will Do

Throughout May, nominations will be open for women who deserve a little extra care this Mother’s Day.

With the support of partners and the wider community, five women will be selected to receive:

  • Pyjamas
  • Thoughtful care packages
  • Small comforts that make a big difference

This is not about grand gestures. It is about restoring dignity, offering rest, and reminding someone that they matter.

Who Should You Nominate

We are looking for women who:

  • Give endlessly to others
  • Are going through a difficult season
  • Rarely receive anything for themselves
  • Or simply deserve to feel seen and appreciated

This could be your mother, a friend, a neighbour, a colleague or even someone whose story has quietly stayed with you.

How to Nominate

To nominate someone, simply go to our Instagram and share…

  • Her name
  • Her story
  • Why you believe she should be chosen

Why This Matters for Nelson Mandela Bay

At 041Online, storytelling has always been about more than headlines. It is about community.

Initiatives like this remind us that impact does not always come from large-scale campaigns. Sometimes it starts with noticing someone, sharing their story, and choosing to care.

This Mother’s Day, we have the opportunity to do that together.

Let’s Show Up for Her

If you know a woman who deserves to be poured into, this is your moment to make sure she is seen.

Nominate her. Share her story. Be part of something that brings comfort where it is needed most.

Because sometimes, feeling special starts with something as simple as being thought of.
