Your Child Could Be 041Online’s Mini Chef at The Boardwalk

Do you have a budding little chef between the ages of 8 and 12? Here’s their chance to learn to cook alongside local pro chefs at The Boardwalk!

Every year on 20 October, chefs around the world celebrate International Chefs Day, a day dedicated to inspiring the next generation of food lovers and encouraging healthy eating among children.

To mark the occasion, The Boardwalk’s Executive Chef Willie Mcotoyi and his team are hosting a hands-on kitchen experience for young food enthusiasts from Nelson Mandela Bay. The event takes place on Tuesday, 28 October, with a chef’s table and cooking challenge starting at 2:30 PM.

Six talented local children, aged between 8 and 12, will be selected to step into the Boardwalk’s professional kitchen to learn from some of the city’s top chefs. The mini chefs will spend the day job shadowing the culinary team before taking on a fun challenge — creating boerewors rolls with a gourmet twist.

Various Nelson Mandela Bay media outlets, including 041Online, will be part of the chef’s table, tasting and critiquing the creations. Highlights and images from the event will be shared with the World Chefs Organisation, showcasing local talent on the international stage.

“Today we are chefs, but when we were young, someone inspired us to love the kitchen to explore flavours and create something new,” says Chef Mcotoyi. “Now it’s our turn to pass that spark on to the next generation.”

Represent 041Online in the Kitchen

041Online is looking for one mini chef aged 8–12 to represent our platform at this special event. If your child loves cooking, experimenting with flavours, and wants to experience a real professional kitchen, this is their chance.
